Life can feel very overwhelming and confusing. When it comes to money, we aren't actually taught what to do, and when help is offered it's either expensive or even more convoluted.
Having been on my own learning journey with money, I'm well aware of how frustrating it can be.
I grew up in a family with migrant parents who had very little money. They came to Australia with literally no money and worked hard. Even then they had no idea what to do with money. More often than not it was spent faster than it was earned.
Living through the 1980s era of hyper-inflation I remember that every cent counted. My grandmother even used to store extra water under her house in case the water was cut off!
As an adult I had my own money journey to experience. Going to university and starting at the bottom of the career ladder in tax accounting, I worked for years and didn't really get anywhere financially (plus, I didn't like the work I was doing). Not knowing what to do I asked a friend who seemed to have it figured out, and she referred me to a financial advisor. He was a good salesman, and so I signed up.
After 6 months I started asking questions he couldn't answer, and then when I calculated how much I was paying him for no answers I began to research and gather information. I studied the Diploma in Financial Planning and goodness, were my eyes opened! I fired my financial advisor and began doing things myself.
Since then I have also been on my business journey, which has made me bring in my management consulting skills on strategic planning and prioritising tasks. This is something I now also help female business owners with. Clarifying and aligning your strategy, so you can focus on the parts of your business you love!
This journey of learning took me nearly 10 years.
I would have loved to have someone who had learned all this beforehand to talk with and ask questions.
So that's what this Clarity Chat is about.
While I do have an online program and private coaching, this isn't a sales funnel call. It's a genuine desire to help women have someone to talk with so they know which direction to at least go in, or to help talk through decisions they have already made.
No matter what the economic climate, there are fundamental things that do work. They are simple and are not "sexy" or exciting, but they do work.
One thing I will say though, is that the money journey is as much about the inner work as it is about money itself.
You will need to be prepared to do some of this inner work - your Values, Beliefs, Habits and overall mindset. I'm not saying this to scare you off, but I want to make sure you have the right expectations.
To give you some idea - I have been working on myself for about 20 years. It's lifelong, and I'm constantly learning (quite often the same lessons, over and over), but that's the beauty of being human! What makes the journey easier is having the right people to talk with, and building a supportive village around you.
That's part of my mission - to build this supportive village, and the women that are part of it already are incredible, beautiful Human Beings.
